According to the Joliet Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call at around 10:30 p.m. upon arrival at the scene, they found the toddler unresponsive with multiple stab wounds.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the two-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The six-year-old boy, whose identity has not been released, is in police custody and is being charged with first-degree murder. The motive for the attack is still under investigation.
